Thanks for visiting! I’ve been holding back a long time on saying something about this highly spoke about topic, “The Law of Attraction.” I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to start contraversy especially when people have already made up their minds about something (like a justified feeling/reason.)
But then I also thought, I’m associated with like-minded individuals who are probably just as saddened by this deception as I am. (If not, feel free to share your comments below)
I’m constantly reading messages that talk about how impressed people are with all of the law of attraction material being funneled all over the internet, tv and book stores and at the same time, my spirit longs for the masses of people to give God, the real and true giver of all… the praise, glory and worship that He so deserves.
“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” Psalms 22:3
We are SO blessed that God sees us different than some of us actually see Him. His love for us could never equate to what some people define as love, they simply don’t have a clue of it’s depth, width nor height. Do you have a deep desire to know the love of God? If so, look to the cross.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17
This is REAL love: “not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” John 4:9-10 Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow!
So what makes me say that?
“Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order
to draw away disciples after them.” Acts 20:30
Because some people would rather worship anything else than give God the glory. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith! He is Alpha and the Omega. If there is a law of attraction, guess what? It’s HIM! (God is the attraction.) He is the creator of the Universe… so why in the world are people talking about the universe like it just arrived here out of no where and all power is in the universe?
It’s called compromising. A wishy washy person who has no clue what his/her belief is.
Being Deceived
The sad part about it is that people are willing to sacrifice their souls these days for a measely dollar. Again, people are compromising their soul salvation.
The law of attraction tells you that if you focus on money, you’ll get money. But my God said, I will supply all your needs according to my riches and glory. He said, SEEK ye first the kingdom of heaven and His righteousness and ALL things shall be added unto you.
The bible has NEVER imparted a message to us to seek the law of attraction. It doesn’t tell us to worship the universe or pray to the universe. Nope. The bible reads:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” John 14:6
This is why our nation is jacked up sideways. We’re compromising our faith!
More than ever, it is long overdue that the body of Christ STAND UP and be responsible. We have got to stop compromising our beliefs, our family values, our businesses and God’s people.
Ask yourself, what is your source of truth?
This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. Jeremiah 17: 5&7 (read the whole chapter, it’s awesome!) Additional Reference: Ephesians 1:13-14
When God imparts a vision, a purpose and a plan for us to fulfill, we need to stop fumbling. Are we going to make mistakes? Absolutely. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23 But that doesn’t mean we have to remain in sin. We can be cleaned if we so desire.
Remember the story of the man with leprosy? He asked Jesus would He be willing to make him clean. Jesus, filled with compassion, stretched out His hand and said “…”I am willing, Be clean!” Mark 1:41
Simply put, there is no justification for the law of attraction and universe messages. I don’t care how they put the words together or give their man made philosophies about it. If it doesn’t acknowledge God, it “ain’t” so! :) “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9
People of “little” faith have got to stop serving two masters, God and the world.
“But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve–But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15).
To God be the glory for the things HE has done!

Unfortunately, the Law of Attraction has gotten misintrepreted because of the hype surrounding a certain book which I shall not mention in this post. Because it is a law, however, it works whether you believe it or not.
The classic definition of the Law of Attraction is that what you put your focus, attention and energy on is what you bring to you. What you think about you bring about. Now that is a secular definition perhaps, but you can bet the foundation is Biblical, “As a man thinketh, so he is.” Because there is “nothing new under the sun,” the Law of Attraction has been around forever. It just came to the forefront of the masses with that book.
For the record, I don’t agree with substituting the Universe for God, either. I highly disagree with that approach, as a matter of fact. However, after having spoken to many dedicated, church-going CHRISTIANS who have no problem with the book or the LOA, the way the book is written brings the principles to life for them in a way that the scripture, for whatever reason, doesn’t. And they are very comfortable substituting God for the Universe. It is understood for them that God is at the head.
The reality is that many people are not really focusing on money, they are focusing on the LACK of money, and therefore it doesn’t show up. That’s where following Biblical principles as stated in the Bible come in. There are now many Christian leaders who are teaching the principles of the Law of Attraction but they are calling it the Law of Life and Death, God’s law, etc. They’re specifically not saying “The Law of Attraction” to stay out of controversy, I suppose, but they are incorporating the same baseline thoughts and ideas.
For example, Darlene Bishop, the pastor of a huge church in Ohio has just released a book entitled “Your Faith Follows Your Words.” Since I have studied the Law of Attraction in detail (after educating myself on its Biblical roots first), it is easy for me to match up the messages of Creflo Dollar, Mark Chironna, Paula White, Joyce Meyer and many other TV evangelists to the principles of the the Law of Attraction. Of course, the Law of Attraction is never mentioned word for word in the Bible. The Law of Gravity isn’t mentioned specifically in the Bible, either, but we know it exists. The concern is not so much what it is called, as it is what are the underlying principles being taught. Whether you call it the Law of Attraction, God’s Law, Biblical Attraction, or whatever, the principles don’t change. And as Christians we know that it ALL comes from God. No two masters served as the Bible says clearly “the love of money is the root of all evil.”
“As a man thinketh,” “for all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted to you,” “everything is possible for him who believes,” this is all in line with the Law of Attraction.
Again, there is really nothing new under the sun. As disciples of Christ, we have a golden opportunity to strengthen someone’s Christian walk by showing how the Bible is the ORIGINAL source of information on the underlying principles of the Law of Attraction. Perhaps by reading the original scripture, someone will get a “rhema” that will really turn their life around and they will be all too happy to give God (and not the Universe) all the glory, honor and praise. Hallelujah!
Blessings,
Paula

Regina,
Don’t feel bad about bringing this up! What a crazy can of worms that this movie has created! First and foremost, being a Christian involves a total lifestyle change… “Being Christ-like”… using His examples, strong faith and beliefs; being totally passionate about Him. Not picking and choosing which Bible scriptures match your lifestyle. But embracing it in it’s entirety! Having the Holy spirit HELP reveal to you God’s plan for YOUR life.
People have clearly taken Christ out of the whole equation with this way of thinking. That’s what it really comes down to… CHRIST and who are you really submitting under? Him? or yourself? God is the ultimate “Master of the Universe”.
Every evangelist Paula Quick mentioned above all have one belief in common… Jesus! They all have a full understanding who Jesus is, has made Him a part of their walk and preach His name mightily! Thank you Paula for that last paragraph, too!
Positive thinking comes from one Father, one son and one spirit. Let’s remember to praise the Creator and not the creations.

Marlo, Paula and Vee,
Thank you so much for your comments. I greatly appreciate them.
Paula, I had to laugh when you wrote: “Of course, the Law of Attraction is never mentioned word for word in the Bible. The Law of Gravity isn’t mentioned specifically in the Bible, either, but we know it exists.”
This is what I mean when I say people “justify their reasons.” Holy Spirit told me a while back that “an excuse is a justification to make the soul feel good.” And because it’s so easy for us to do that… we do. We justify our reasons for acceptance. Collard greens and cornbread aren’t in the Bible either… but I know they exist (ymmy
but does that mean I can eat that anytime and as much as I want? Nope.
Vee… I love your message: “Let’s remember to praise the Creator and not the creations.”

What energy goes into complicating the simple! God is Truth, not a science. Faith is belief in God whom we can neither see nor can we touch, and still we feel His presence and hear His wisdom.
I am delighted when someone remarks they want what I have. What they are referring to has nothing to do with this world and everything to do with being salt and light . There is no greater compliment that I may receive than to be no more and no less than He who calls me to be.
We are allowing for a society that complicates sharing with others God and Jesus, and in the process muddy the waters so that we look like and sound like everyone else. Purchasing a Bible is as confusing as walking into the cosmetics department. As a Christian, you want to know that the word of God has not been distorted in Biblical translations. My personal opinion is that, that suggest the makings for a fine line between Truth and false prophet.
Whatever the buzz is about I cannot wrap myself around it. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit I can wrap myself around.
