“Networking is the process of discovering and utilizing connections between people.  Genuine networks stem from friendships or business relationships. Everyone knows other people, and thus has a network. But “networking” implies movement beyond one’s immediate network and involves tapping into other people’s networks, perhaps far removed from one’s own.”

It’s no secret that times are tough all over. With layoffs abound, more and more people are searching for alternate ways to generate additional income.

With business profits facing downturns, business owners are looking for ways to reach new customers.  And thank goodness, one haven of opportunity still exists – yep, I’m talking about marketing on the Internet.

With more and more people and businesses coming online, there is a dramatically growing need for information on building a successful online business.  All this means a tremendous opportunity for you – even if you don’t personally have any specialized Internet marketing knowledge.

It’s amazing how many people have responded to my teleseminar coming up February 17, 2009 and their questions about ‘networking with a heart’.

Before I can answer what networking with a heart is, I’ll have to begin with what ‘heartless networking’ means.

Heartless networking is when a person is only interested in their own bottom line results while not caring what other people have to say, what they’re doing and or what they have to offer.

Quite simply, it’s selfish.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when they begin networking is scattering their time and energy indiscriminately, and spending their time only talking about themselves.
